But I think back to the 750 and how it handled like it was on rails. Ie steered like a train. And if you pushed on into dips leant over you could feel it flex.

Mine was an ex WMCC proddy bike, but it gave you a new appreciation of those that raced them. No thanks to another.
I'm finding the "no thanks to another" thing is applying to lots of the old stuff I used to have back in the day. All I am tempted by is stuff I didnt have or wanted - a GPz750 Turbo or a GPz900R perhaps. Maybe a CB750F2 (but not another K or F1), the right DOHC CB900F roller door maybe.

What I am enjoying is my antique (1993) Ducati Monster - despite its flaws. It stops better than any bike from the 70's or 80's I reckon.

maybe $6k is the new $3k and I am out of touch

and someone wants $9k for an (admittedly tidy) XS650!!! the "speshul" as well https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/m...ing/3367161690

at least it has nice shiny tyres
I remember doing the rounds in Auckland bike shops a few years ago now, and was surprised every shop had a tidy XS650 for silly money and I thought they were crazy. Clearly some local appeal.
    Was a few years ago.

During a visit to the Wellington Norton dealer intending to buy a Commando, while the salesman was busy ignoring me, an apprentice of my acquaintance motioned me over out of the salesman's view and informed me none they had sold had lasted 2000 miles. There ended my lust for Bracebridge Street's finest.

At $800 but not at its reserve

It's more a study of what is not there. But there is a bunch of people watch listed it. So maybe a 3rd person will buy it and put it up for sale like the last two who realised they would never finish it to, whatever deluded vision they had in thier head.

So what do you think about this? Obviously selling a few bikes, but geez, that looks a bike like a mint RG250.

Oh, wait. That's the brochure picture. And it sounds a bit rough in the description. And there's no actual pictures of the fucking bike for sale!

main bearings.... they then strengthened the housing and it got worse till they used rollers with a barrell shaped rather than parallel

I'm sure I saw a Norton Commander rotary at the cold Kiwi many years ago. Anyone else know of it in NZ?
