An old 350 would probably be happier at 80kph than 100 now?
A 500 is not much faster than a 350 but can be geared up a bit so its happier at 55mph.

I think what he has here is a collection of parts a restorer might be keen on. For the right price. And this cant be it.

Maybe this was what he was left with after he restored the good one.
A pre war Red Hunter might go $16K but they are less popular than other marques despite being arguably 'better' (or is that slightly less worse)

A collection of parts with the weird harold plungeresque rear suspension is arguably worth more than a swing arm one particularly with the twin port head. However that bike needs vast amounts spending on it and truck loads of parts before its viable. You could sink another $15k into that before it was worth say - oh - $8k....

Yeah. Usually they do it to a GN250 or something and it doesn't matter much. That might've been a nice bike before he started hacking it about - or a wreck?

So he took it apart and did no engine work. Bet he measured it reeeal well.

Think you would be pretty underwhelmed riding one in the 2000s as it struggled to cough out 50hp.

Your location does affect the value of a bike. There will be far more people in Auckland who will travel across town to buy a roundabout. In Westport, not so much.

The ER range was the swansong slightly cynical budget offering. In shabby condition the more you look. But ideal for restoration if that is what floated your boat for whatever perverted reason.
But not at restored price. And certainly not in Westport.

Better quality pics wouldn't help. Even softer focus and more grease on the lens still might do it.....
