There is fuel leaking at the valve (see photo) on my suzuki RG150. I tried putting a hose clamp on but its still comes out at a reasonable rate.
Do i just need to tighten the clamp up heaps, allthough that may split the tube...

Don't keep tightening. Turn off the fuel supply and disconnect and remove that clip. Pull, wiggle and twist off the hose and check to see where the leak is from. Is it the hose (easy) or the metal tap body (harder)...
Either the hose is split, or the pipe from the tap is split around the tap housing I would say.![]()
For a man is a slave to whatever has mastered him.Keep an open mind, just dont let your brains fall out.
If i disconnect the hose and put my finger over the hole no fuel escapes. the hose does not appear to have any splits although its doesn't fit the valve very tightly. It seems like fuel is just escaping between valve and hose.
I would say that hose clamp is the cause of the problem. Trying to tighten it has cracked the outlet to the tap.
There are much better ways to attach the fuel line to the tap ... (cheaper than a bloody hose clamp) most bike shop workshops will give you the proper spring clip. ...
When life throws you a curve ... Lean into it ...
it was leaking before I put the hose clamp on, petrol is only coming out the hole in the valve
will do, thanks for your help
Sometimes the brass tube in the cast tap starts to leak at the joint. If that is the case, you'll need to wiggle it out, then use something like JB Weld to reseal it in there.
