A good scooter for Wellington?

I been looking for a scooter for wellington but it got nothing on trade me in wellington I been reading up that the Yamaha jog is a good scooter because its two stroke and it got a disc break etc and I do live on the hill so my question is that is there is there any other scooters out there that are two and got a disc break that isn't cheap like a china scooter

suzuki az50,sj50 honda dio they dont have discs but you aint racing on the isle of man.
dont know about chinese ones theyre ahead of my time

There are some cheaper Chinese scoots out there, but when they break down, the cost of fixing them isn't worth the effort unless you have good mechanic skills. Parts are cheap enough but labour cost soon add up.
Prepare to spend between $1000-$2000 for anything half decent. Best to get a good look at anything you buy first, some are tiny, others have more leg room size. Scooter shame is bad enough, but you don't want to look like a grasshopper rooting an ant when you're onboard.

Search Piaggio Zip, Aprilia Sport City, Honda Dio, Yamaha Jog CV50, Suzuki SJ50, AY50, AZ50, UZ50.
If you have to go Chinese/Taiwanese try TGB101 or Hyosung Rally.

Chances are, you'll get bored with a 50cc pretty quick too and soon enough will want more power. If you buy right (quality scoot) you'll recover most of your money when you sell it again.

Do you have your motorbike licence? If so, you have much more to look at. If only on a car licence, then you are stuck with a 50cc scooter.

The amount of work I have put into keeping my chinese scoot running would make you think I am either insane or a glutton for punishment. But 4 years and 15,000kms later I still have cheap transportation. My latest mod to keep it going is an air shutter on the airbox inlet which acts as a choke....autochokes always malfunction or die on these scoots, and replacements for 2strokes are hard to come by, so now on cold mornings I have to pull a little lever to close the airbox inlet to get the thing started. If you are not mechanically inclined and keen to work on it, stay far away from the cheapo scoots

15000kms?so theyre getting no better yet then.
one of my suzuki 125 scoots ive had since new,got to 86000km before the drive belt broke,apart from normal oil changes and brake pads etc,another 62000km before the drive had a prob,but my latest one really pisses me off cause its only done 42000km and has a problem i cant fathom in the firing dept
