Nope, as a handloader I would perfer to tailor the round, 110 Vmax (.308), and put it in his thigh, video for the world to see as he bleeds out through a mangled stump, that folks, would be rehabilitation at a cost of around a dollar a round.

Actually I do know what I am talking about,This keeps happening and sure we as a nation will be offended for 5 minutes, but we fail to turn our Anger into Action.

and by Consistently failing to do something to improve the situation, we are culpable.

A very dear friend of mine happens to work in the NZ justice System, in an area that happens to deal a lot with these type of cases (no details, to uphold their anonymity)

The so-called Anti-Smacking Bill has been a help in being able to convict people of Child Abuse, but the Law as it stands is insufficient, the Departments that are meant to help with at risk families are under staffed, under resourced, over worked and have a mountain of Archaic Bureaucracy and out-dated Law in their way.

The rights of Victims can be printed on a single pamphlet, versus the books that deal with prisoner rights.

The whole issue of Child abuse in NZ is a joke, with Dead children the un-funny punch line.

the anti smacking bill is an absolute joke & has not made a difference to child abuse, it's just stopped a lot of parents from disciplining their kids
I don't disagree with the law being a joke where these dead heads are concerned, but don't tell me I'm to blame or should shoulder any sort of responsibility for theses' losers we all have choice's
as for the rest of the shit you've mentioned above.... you watch to much tv & believe every thing you hear....

If you believe we aren't acting and can make a difference, why aren't you making the change you think we are all guilty of ignoring?

I'd happily step in to stop abuse or dob in any abuser if I knew. Apart from that I refuse to vote labour. What more can I do to stop abuse? Go vigilante through a poor neighbourhood? Blow up a prison wing? Start a Facebook page?

Nope - it has made possible convictions of people who would previously have gotten off under the previous Law. Again - This is information from someone who is directly involved in this area. As of yet, there has not been a case made against a parent who was legitimately disciplining their child.

For the Same reasons you stated - I would happily get behind a movement, yet one never happens and I neither have the Social, Financial or Political clout to make one happen myself.

It is the Archaic Bureaucracy that holds us back.

If we could streamline the process, wouldn't we be better off?

I vote for a Judge Dread justice system..
