    Bonnie T100 suspension

Recently bought a Bonnie and enjoying it but would like to improve the ride. Not so bad that i want to spend up large on Ohlins etc and wonder if any owners have had success with cheaper options.??

I had YSS suspenders on the rear and they were very good for the money spent.

Don't forget the front end too. I scored some Race Tech emulators and some Ohlins springs (correct gauge for my weight) from Robert Taylor. I wish I had done the mod way earlier, as it greatly reduced fork dive, and improved the ride of the bike no end.

I had a 2004 Thruxton a few years back, fitted a pair of Ikons, better than the ones that were on it but you need to get the correct springs.
+1 on emulators and springs, I took mine around Pukekohe on some ART days and whilst the motor is pretty willing right up to redline/cutout the front sure did dive under braking.
I've got Ohlins and springs/emulators on my 1972 BMW 900 track bike and that's very stable at over 100 mph.
That would set you back about 2K.

I'd buy another Bonnie/Thruxton if someone else has spent up on engine and suspension mods... I have a nice Ducati 900 Superlight that was only $7500 and that has flat slides, termis and a Nitron shock.
DeMyer's Laws - an argument that consists primarily of rambling quotes isn't worth bothering with.

I dont know what your definition of expensive is but a set of Ohlins for that are just over a grand maybe? Robert is also doing Hagon in NZ I think.

I have seen YSS suspension but know nothing of them.

If you do the shocks you will end up doing the forks too DAMHIK

same. though I do have a set of Ohlins in the shed that would fit so there's a good start. I am idly looking at Bonnies, W650's and W800's presently.

I actually really rate the 17 inch wheel Bonnie especially in that purple and cream.

I bought a Nitron for the Street Triple through Robert, sprung and valved for my weight. Only required half a turn of preload to get the sag right and the damping was nigh-on perfect. Really impressed with the performance and significantly cheaper than the Penske i had on the Blackbird.

    My T100

I replaced the rear shocks with Hagon Nitro's, and fitted Ricor Intiminators to the forks. I left the standard springs in the forks and changed the oil from 10w to 5w as recommended by Ricor. Those changes made a big improvement to the handling. Later I added a steering damper and a fork brace. I'm very happy with what I have now.
