Scrap Waitangi Day and bring back NZ Day so all New Zealanders can enjoy and celebrate it going foward together.
Waitangi Day has unfortunately been destroyed by a few morons who insist in living in the past and have chips on their shoulders bigger than tree trunks.
    No future there.

7th August looks good. It might be a bit colder, but it's as far away from 6th Feb as you can get and fills that horrible gap between Queen's Birthday and Labour Day.

Yep fair enough. But like karikari, tokerau beach, the holidymakers are only there for 2 weeks. Was thinking about these sections in particular. Pretty good value for a huge fully serviced section up a long cul de sac. I can vouch for the 5 min walk too.

As long as Waitangi Day is only a showcase for a bunch of shrill harridans and their cretinous sidekicks dedicated to their Perpetual Grievance Industry, the taxpayers who are forced to support this pigmented farce will stay at work or stay at home. It's not a national New Zealand day for citizens.

I'm sorry - but commemorating the slaughter of colonial troops as cannon fodder in yet another British fuck up hardly seems great ... some of us have just as different an opinion on that day as you do of this day ..

(Yes, I get what happened - and my Grandfather was wounded on the beaches at Gallipoli on April 25 ... I remember with respect ... I get all that ... It was still the slaughter of colonial troops in a great British fuck up)

Maybe that's because some of the citizens aren't too pleased with what goes down in this country ???

I can appreciate where you're coming from, I lost my grandfather on my mothers side.
But to me, I look upon it as NZ's awakening as an independant nation. The Screwup at Gallipoli make us look at ourselves and
realise we don't necessarily blindly follow where England goes.
And that was a good thing
