I didn't think!!! I experimented!!!
No idea whether she was guilty of smuggling cannabis but being caught in an airport with a boogie board full of the stuff is pretty hard to defend. Also she is alleged to have said to the Customs officer "the stuffs not mine".
Whatever. Almost sentenced to death then 9 years in a raw prison is bloody harsh for simply smuggling cannabis. The same drug which is now lawful in parts of the USA and Europe.
Guilty or innocent this young woman has lost years of her life and that is sad.
The bit I struggle with is...if you put your boogie bag onto the scales at the airport yourself and it didn't have the hooch in it...when you went to pick it up at the other end and it suddenly had 4.2kgs of hooch in it...wouldn't alarm bells be ringing in your head right away? I fucking know if I went to pick any boogie bag of mine up in a place like Bali and it was 4.2kgs heavier I'd put it straight back down and leave the fucking thing there!
That's what I can't understand though.
In the interest of a fair trial why would the Indonesian court not weigh her luggage and then compare it to the weight when checked in at Sydney.
If they weighed the same she's guilty as. If they weighed 4 kgs different then she's been stitched up.
Couldn't agree more.
I hear what you're saying...and I'd agree if the bag in question was already 20 odd kg's or something. But a boogie board and bag weight how much? So all of a sudden it's like prob double it's orig weight maybe? I still think bells would be sounding in my head. Mind you...I hear bells all day long.
...it's a big bad world...full of dumb cunts, greedy cunts, scummy cunts and silly cunts...and even innocent cunts...the good cunts are out there too, they just dont get to feature in this shit so much...unless they are dumb...
More than likely - 9 years in the can for stupidity does seem a bit harsh!Corby was stitched up because it suited the state, guilt or innocence was never an issue, she was only ever political capital, next spat between Aussie and Indo, you just might see Corby back behind bars again on some pretext or other.
Had a cousin who was stopped by a pair of Police in Thailand, who then searched his pack and mysteriously pulled out a bag of heroin....! Only the fact that he was the son of a famous New Zealander and a serious diplomatic incident could ensue, saved his bacon! The cops pulled their scam on the wrong guy - peter may be strange, but he wasn't into drugs at all.........and I'd know.
Next boat full of refugees the Aussies send back will probably see her pulled back into prison on some trumped up reason.....
“- He felt that his whole life was some kind of dream and he sometimes wondered whose it was and whether they were enjoying it.”
Do you really think that snackbarists give a fuck about a fair trial?
They don't care about anything other than their pitiful lives wasted being a slave to some imaginary deity who they are prepared to kill for, or at least lock up in jail for a very long time. Common sense and a little bit of intelligence are about as far from reality as possible when dealing with these primitive animals. That's why whites (the non terrorist kind) have no business being in those shitholes.
Reality check.
Indonesia is a democracy. It is not a theocratic state. There are only two - Iran and the Vatican City.
Indonesia is a Muslim country but then Australia and NZ are regarded as Christian countries from outside.
Indonesian law is based on Roman law derived from the Dutch. Their legal system isn't greatly different from our own.
glad i posted this, I understand a lot of you meat heads much better![]()
Nah, there is already a big spat with egg on the Aussies faces for spying on the Indonesian President and nine other big wigs (Edward Snowden info). The Indonesians are furious (just like Angela Merkel) and if Shapelle Corby mattered to them she wouldn't be being released.
Really she is just another white tourist who disrespected the local laws and has been a small irritation because of media interest.
As for the Aussies, when Corby was paid $280,000 for a story, the Oz govt tried to seize it as proceeds of crime but the family got the money away. Funnily enough Indonesia doesn't have that law so shes better off over there. Weird eh.
