Or maybe they just assume everyone knows where they are.
I'm in the 07 area, I regularly deal with companies in the 03, 04, 06 and 09 areas in addition to local businesses. It gets annoying when I have to try to guess whether its a Jafa or a local (03, 04 and 06 people always give their area code because they know there are other places outside their areas)
I just had a call from a woman I need to interview for an article I'm writing. She told me to call her at 10am tomorrow and just listed the number with no area code - you guessed it, she was from Auckland! I'll cut her a little slack though because she was ringing me on my mobile so she may have assumed I was a Dorklander too!
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!
