    Question Oil seals

Help info wanted. I have pulled the front fork seals out of my 96 750 Gixxer. I note they have multi sealed surfaces in them. So I have ordered the genuine parts. Has anyone tried the after market of ordinary seals in upside down forks?

There are Vesra fork seals for your model bike and sometime's they can be fine. However there really is nothing better then original, If you have a problem with getting the pits out of your forks to stop blowing seals then Vesrah are fantastic as a set is cheaper then one original. If it is just a wear issue, just replace BOTH seals and oil.

I can scan the relevant section from the manual and sent it to you if you need it.

Thanks for that. I wasn’t sure so opted to order the real deal ones. No stone chips or damage at this stage. I had a very hard breaking manoeuvre yesterday to stop from hitting a car in the driver’s door. I had the front locked up on a partly wet road and it dived hard when the tyre hit some dry seal. I didn’t hit the car but when I came out of a shop with some stuff for work I noticed a patch of oil so took the baby home and pulled it to bits. Just old age as the rubber has gone off in the seals thank goodness. So will be back up and running when the seals come in on Tuesday.
Is 10 W the right grade of oil?
Thanks for your help and it is appreciated.

    Blown seal?

An eskimo pushes his stuffed snowmobile into his local Polaris dealership.

The mechanic lifts the seat, looks at the engine, than looks at the eskimo.

"Looks like you've blown a seal," he says.

"Nah," says the eskimo. "It's just the frost on my beard..."

Should say in your manual but 10 or 15 should be fine.
Also throw the tape away and use a condom (I AM SERIOUS)
Roll it over the top of the fork leg and down maybe 4-5 inch's then carefully cut off the rolled up bit and take that off leaving the rest on there.
I have been using them for this for years and have not damaged one yet.
