My God, how times have changed, gangs used to be called Black Power, Mongrel Mob etc. Now we have the Boys from Shirley.
That's got to be the gayest gang name ever.
What a sorry arsed bunch of losers these kids were, if they could only see themselves as we see them.

I feel almost sorry for them, they have (at present) no future but the worrying thing is that they could breed - and they are also too short sighted to see what a bunch of wankers they look to the general public..

Though they all could be faggots as I didn't see too many sheilas in the 'gangs' (probably got more brains than this bunch of slack-jawed mouth breathing improvident lack-witted oxygen theives).

And out taxes are paying for their loser lifestyle! Sheesh!!

And why do so many of life's failures want to be social workers?

I was in a Catholic school 96-03. Even there was a gang like culture amoung many maori students. There was an unspoken rule not to be friends with pakeha unless they kissed ur ass. They would go around doing shit just to piss people off trying to prove they were the shit. I believe a few were involved with actual gangs cause they had nothing better to do with their lives.

Some of them I wouldn't be surprised if it was because of bad parenting but the rest was peer pressure.

I greatly dislike the 'bilingual' class idea, a special class for those who want to learn subjects in English and Maori. Sure they learnt how to speak maori better which is perfectly fine but they had little interaction with white students which made the division between the groups worse.

Too many of my generation were never taught how respect others unless they rapped or killed people. And I do a majority of the blame on the parenting of the previous generation (not all ), eg letting 5yr olds play GTA3 instead of socialising properly.

    ChCh Gangs

Its a pain in the butt living in ChCh, having a 15 year old, very impressionable niece living with you, who for some strange reason likes these dropkicks ..... I have taken her in to show her the 'other' side of life and hopefully can bring her around (if its not too late) Certainly do not want them anywhere near my niece or my house..... it is certainly a parenting thing tho, what they grow up in (no hope) they think is normal, no self worth

Just to add to the general feeling of disgust and loathing, some scumbag killed a cat belonging to the cop who arrested the Huntly Heroes.
I really hope they die lingering painful deaths.

"Dropkicks" they may be. But they don't go to school or work, have no responsibilities, procure enough folding to acquire smokes and kai (and probably booze and other elicit), hang around being "cool" and tormenting The Man. To some, this is an enviable lifestyle.

Sure, they looked ridiculous but the whole thing smelled like a bit of a beat-up to me.
The ones that they interviewed actually seemed quite intelligent and most said that they weren't interested in the real gangs and were just hanging out and having fun while they were young.

It seemed to me that a lot of them were just looking for a bit of a steer, something that they weren't getting from home.
I dunno, I wasn't left too despondent after the programme.

God, aren't you supposed to get grouchier and vote NZ First as you get older, wha..wha..what's happening to me...I feel....woozy....
