It is something I have always wanted to try and I was most fortunate to get to have a go at Drew and Nodrog . Thank you fellas for not sending me skidding down the track although at one point I did think I was letting go. Drew claiming he could not hear me screaming above the bike......lol

I now have a whole new respect for the swingers out there and I still cant stop smiling....
I'm glad you enjoyed it luv. Great to see you...even if I couldn't hear you.

    That was fantastic!
I knew it would be good but it was better than expected, great vibe about the place too.

I think I scored the best deal from the have a go day. I had 4 rides on a couple sidecars. I ended up being offered to swing on the Harley sidecar today. So I stayed the night in taupo and raced today as well.

3 laps of the little track yesterday was nothing compared with trying to hold on for 6 laps of the bigger track today. From about lap 4 I was hoping for the last lap board haha. The hardest thing I have ever done was try to hold on around a right hand corner when I was on the left side of the bike.... Fucked up the corner so bad that I had to go around a right hander holding my body on the bike from flying off the outside of the bike by my hands only. Being shit scared of falling off is motivation enough to not let go.

My leathers are worn down from rubbing against the track, my boots need a bit of glue from abusing them, my hip feels like one big bruise and I'm physically drained from the racing.... But it was the best weekend in a long time. And all on my birthday.

Special mention to Juniper for managing to get her helmet on the ground mid corner and giving herself a bit of a concussion. Talented girl you are!

Think I saw her get her head down. Front exiting on a classic? Was wondering what the hell whoever it was, was thinking.

Great day out, many a happy face coming off the chairs all morning.

I found that Harley incredibly hard to get from left turn to right turn position on.
I got the feeling it was set up for someone much bigger and stronger than me...

Still fizzing at such a great day.

The usual swinger is only about 80-90kg. But Keith isn't a small boy so he only cares about the swinger being there for the left hand bends to keep the chair wheel as close to the ground as possible. So most right handers I just hauled my ass into the middle. The series of right handers I got right over the wheel though.

I had a ball. Was my first time on a sidecar. Really enjoyed it. Did a long chair, a short chair and a classic. Classic was definitely the hardest! Was that the actual Nodrog on the BMW? I should have introduced myself - particularly after getting in the way of the gear shifts and sucking at getting over to the right hand side.

Glad you guys had fun, I was rooted after the end of it. Its harder than racing, its a fine line between making it exciting for everybody without the danger of throwing them down the track.

If anybody is keen to get into the sport further and would like to have some more track time, just get hold of one of us. There maybe the opportunity to get on with somebody at a test day over the winter period.

I am not surprised!! You guys really had your work cut out for you with all us newbies.

Thanks again so much for the ride though, absolutely loved it - if you ever need a swinger you know where to go (I was the one in the black leathers and matte black and white shoei)

Well done to the Sidecar Association for putting on such a great day.
If success were to be judged by smiles on dials then congrats on a top job.

Hehe loved it. Was great fun... holding on for dear life... some screaming...

And an inappropriately timed snooze after!
What's the point in living if you don't feel alive?

Toying with ones mortality shouldn't be this much fun.
