4 weeks off work, but it's all good!

So I have served my employer well and faithfully for 7 years and have been rewarded with a month off on long service leave. Just thought you'd all like to know.

Sent from my black samsung thing sitting in the Motueka Top 10 camping ground with a cold cider in one hand and a hot Mrs Oakie in the other.

You might just get back to work to find they have shifted and left no forwarding address

To me the most remarkable thing is that your employment contract has a long service leave provision.....i thought those had gone the way of regular wage increases...

Oh, and pics or the whole thing is a fraud.

We get a long service leave after 20 years. On Friday, I start back after 3 weeks off. I'm shattered already.

I can't imagine any length of time off work that would make me consider that first option.
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.

I was begining to feel jealous until you explain that all you had to drink was Cider. They have Supermarkets there & Bottlos.

And now I'm back home. It was so nice that we extended the original 4 nights to 6 nights.

Yep. Every 7 years you get an extra month. I'm pretty sure there will only be a small % of employment agreements that have this now but it is probably a good thing to have in there as an incentive to long service. It has kept me at my present employer for the last two years anyway with that month off being on the horizon.

No no no. that was just my drink of choice at the time. The camping ground has small fridges for rent and we stocked ours with a diverse array of alcoholic beverages (and a bottle of milk).

In week 2 of my month off and we're off to MIlford Sound tomorrow. Long day from Queenstown to Milford and back at 580 kms but should be a blast, Got nuclear strength insect repellant so hopefully that'll keep the sandflies at bay.
