Since I have the fuel tank off my bike, is it a good idea to spray some of that Supercheap degreaser in a can over the engine and on other dirty places around the bike? I just want to make sure that it's going to play nice with all the rubber components like fuel hoses and shit.

degreaser is fine...just use the cheap shit...or oven cleaner...does same job.

I've been using Simple Green as my degreaser/cleaner for my drivetrain, it works good and is cheap and easy to find.
