    rear Shock for yamaha IT400

I am looking for info on repairing or a replacment part for the rear shock of a 1997 yamaha IT400. I have just had the bike fixed up after 18 years of sitting in the basment so I can ride with my boys for fun. Both the front shocks and the rear shocks are gone. If there is any help out there i would be very greatful.
    Thanks
    Tom

By "gone" do you mean removed or just stuffed?
You should be able to have the shock rebuilt - see your local dealer.

The Spring still works and i am going to take the shock in to see if i can get it re-charged. 2 of the local dealers said the shock can not be rebuilt. They said if the shock leaks or the seals are dried out, I will have to get another Shock. The problem is that this shock is no loger made and there is no custom shock available per the 2 dealers.

Try asking your question here instead http://www.yamaha-it.co.uk/ although there's not a lot of members there's the odd one or two with a IT400

and they've got online parts listings here http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/parts/home.aspx

I know my IT200 shock is rebuildable but its a few years later than yours, you may be able to adapt something off another model if yours cant be done
