GSXR 1000 exhaust

Can anyone tell me what the implications or ramifications would be/are of fitting a set of TL1000 Two Brothers exhausts on to a 08 GSXR 1000. Obviously the mounts could be different but am more interested in effects of back pressure, performance and the possible need for mapping.

None at all. You'd be happy fitting a set of TB pipes dedicated to your bike I presume? The cores on the TL TB ones will be identical. If you check over their mufflers they are slotting on the same muffler to a huge range of bikes - just the mounting points and mid pipes differ.

The bikes computer will adjust itself but if you are really fussy a remap or fit a PC and have a custom map done for the bike. TB and the other pipe makers all sell their slip/bolt-ons as 'fit and fire-up' with no changes needed. There will be a pile of posts telling you otherwise but check their websites - fit and play. Suzuki offer 'free' mufflers on selected bikes every Summerfest - none of those bikes are remapped by them. (Obviously a bike specific remap will potentially improve even a stock bike - just to cover my arse).

Sounds like a good we project to me - get in to it.

Been a while since I've had a GSXR but I'm sure that they used a " Yoshi Box" or similar to tune it.

Thanks for opinions guys. The bike is actually my brothers. He tried to sell it on tardme recently but had no takers. So he has decided to put it on the track for trackdays etc etc. He currently has a set ot Yoshis but doesnt want to munt them as crashes are expected. He/we currently usesan old gsxr 750 on the track but the newish 1000 is a big step up so he has fitted an old set of fairings adn is looking for an old set of pipes that he cry over if they get damaged.
