    Eqc

Like watching paint dry only paint doesn't take 3 years to dry.

Be nice to move on and we're told today we're on step 4 of a 10 step ladder. Cunts.

Any of you guys in a similar position here in Christchurch ?

Yep. Was hoping to have had my final settlement by now but still coming. Not overly worried though. For me, the longer it takes, the less chance there is that another quake will ruin repair work as happened to me in February 2011. I guess my situation is different to many though as my repairs are mostly superficial. Just a few cracks and some internal doors out of whack.

Chance would be a fine thing, we're still hanging between a total rebuild or a big repair .

Our house is Ok as in liveable but, be nice to get it fixed, 3 years now still paying our insurance and still no word from AMI .

    Call them again tomorrow ...sigh

Personally, we're Ok. But between the wife and I, we know 5 couples who are stuck with a low EQC figure and an insurance co who say either rebuild or bigger bill....and nothing is happening.

One couple - 83 and 70 plus - have had their claim in the hands of lawyers for two years now...EQC say repairable for around 60 grand.
Insurance and engineers say writeoff - rebuild total around 900 thousand...They're still living in it, have no kids to leave it to so are hanging out for a cash settlement after which they will continue to live in it till they die....WTF else can they do.

And Simpson goes on campbell and says he's proud of the progress.....

The fat catholic takes a fair amount of the blame too....I hear that he's unlikely to get back in from Fendalton but I think he's around no 5 on the bloody list so we're probably still stuck with him.

They've finally gotten around to us. All I'll say is they were a lot more understanding with they had to make us wait to get things sorted
