Well WHAT AN AWESOME DAYS RACING YESTERDAY, seems my predictions weren't to far off. Rick and Henk now NZ Bucket Sidecar champs, Chris and Tracey second and Koba and Alan third. [all three places were on sidecars designed and mostly built by Brenton. Does he get the manufacturers prize?] If there was a prize for the dark horse of the meeting it had to be Pumba and Ieda on the Battle truck, that thing was flying and i thought they had the tittle sewn up until fate intervened, never mind Carl next year mate. Was good to watch the scooter rigs battling it out and was very entertaining. Hey Gordie when you going to build one? you looked right at home on one. Sorry to Reagan and Moose that once again mine wouldn't run right but not ready to give up on the two stroke just yet and at least mine wasn't the only two stroke to die, although Team GPR was definitely producing a lot more horsepower with their engine. And can't forget Des and Erica good on you's with your second place in the Sidecar Endurance race. Overall i thought it was a great day and thanks to all those who helped to make it happen, hopefully there was enough interest created to further grow the Sidecar class

a huge thank you to Chris and Jan for dragging the bulk of the chairs down there, and lining them all up so everyone could see them together.
Chris did more than that, and put up some prize money. thanks to those who came down, Cully and I loves watching them, and seeing the expressions of governing lol

thanks also to Team GPR for the dog tags, that was awesome.

actually, you guys and gals did a great job, and I hope next year will be same if not better.

Congrats to all the Sidecar entrants, great effort lads!! Top stuff to Henk and Rick, well deserved guys.

Our efforts came to little, its all or nothing with our Rig it seems! Came out in first practice and was slewing terribly, over-inflated tyres. Just as we were going to try a little harder, the tie rod on the handle bars decided enough was enough and the threaded rod at one end sheared off, causing us to fly off the track. Disconsolate we fixed the above, went out in second practise and put in the third quickest time with one semi flying lap of 59 secs, the second lap brought on a terrible vibration in the motor, and that was that as they say. So only one full completed lap in total!

So, out without firing a shot it would seem. Better luck next time I hope.

PS: If anyone from the Formula Tokoroa, F4 or F5 would like a dogtag for their class but did not get one, just fire me a PM with an address, or see me at the next North Island Round in April.

What about the powerade oil catch bottle? And what you cant see in the photo is the battery box holder made out of bits of plastic milk crate.

(Fuck I am sounding rough, I am not that bad honest)

For the record Qkkid was in my bed, not the other way round

What a great event, thanks to the Auckland bucket club for organising, hope you do it next year as well.
Congrats to Rick & Henk on winning the GP, thanks to the GPR team for the medals, & thanks for to all the other sidecar teams for turning up, whether you were the owners or someone new riding them, it was great to see this event being run again. Now that there is still alot of hiype from the event we all need to try and find all the old sidecars from around the country & get them sold on so we can have even more for next year. there are rumors floating around of a few more being built which is good.
Bad luck to Pumba who was really showing a good turn of pace and the racing for the first 5 or so laps up front was great to be in, also bad luck to the GPR team, & warren, but i am sure both bikes will be back better than ever. also thanks to Brenton for getting the scene going again in Auckland buy building some sidecars ( top 3 in GP all built by him ) hope he builds another dozen !!!!
Everyone i talked to said there sidecars would be back for next year so we have 10 already, thanks again, Chris

Surely there's a pretty good case to be made, for people to knock some chairs up 'new' like.
