You live in a smoggy shit hole, and guess what, being that you add a vehicke to the road, that smoggy shit is your problem and fault.

    Take the fucking bus.
lol, seems you hit a nerve there. But that's what us moaning JAFAs do. It's like a trademark, 2/3rds of the kiwi population would be disappointed if it was otherwise.

You keep your open sweeping roads, we'll keep our clogged motorways and become slow speed lane splitting experts (incidentally, while wearing our gas masks).

PS Still waiting for the handle-mounted espresso machine to be released, you guys got any up north ?

Just following up on my own post .. I got myself a Respro Techno mask, and the difference it makes is HUGE!

Admittedly it's a bit of a squeeze under the helmet but it does filter out the bulk of the crap I'm inhaling.

Yeah, I bought myself a Respro mask when I was living in London. The pollution there is an absolute nightmare, and I found it made a huge difference, too. Then again, someone recently told me that the most dangerous particles are actually incredibly tiny and make it through most masks, so I wouldn't be too optimistic...

Anyone recommend a decent filter mask that would go under the helmet ?

Hermetically sealing my helmet would help but would lead to other issues ....

    Thanks!
Have you tried a oxygen mask?

Nope .. I don't live in Auckland, but I do work there (necessary evil) ... hence the 200km a day riding I mentioned in the first post, my bike isn't garage jewellery like a lot of peoples and I commute further in a day than most people do in a week, so I thought I'd ask what sort of filters are around to block a lot of the crud from going in my lungs (not keen on sounding like I gargle with broken glass).
