    2014 Suzuki DL1000

We've finally got our 2014 DL1000 demo bike. So anyone wanting a fang on it feel free to get hold of me to sort a day/time.

Not a bad looking bike, its a bit "me to" tho, Suzuki should have challenged whats already out there a bit more I think.

seen the 650 at Boyds with the full Givi touring kit looking at a dual purpose scooter for the future, currently interested in a Buell Ulysses how do you rate the DL1000 along side one of these Pete?

I guess we will be waiting a week for the reluctant salesman from Wellington Motorcycles to reply to his own thread.
He had time to do another 9 posts elsewhere tho!!

Anyway I contacted the Awesome MR motorcycles in Pukekohe, they dont have pricing information released by Suzuki yet although Im told the current one is $16995 so Im guessing it will be around that.

Very different bikes to ride for sure. The Buell is far rougher around the edges for want of a better term. Some of the Brazilian market ones (Buell) that were imported run a bit hairy. See what I did there! If a lot of your stuff is one up and or around town more often than not...I'd do a DL650. But for open road stuff thenew DL1000 for sure. It feels nothing like it's older brother to me.

I wish mate. Makes it hard when I can't tell the peeps for sure how much it's gonna cost. But regardless..if you fancy a fang on it...let me know and I'll book it for ya. May take it home for the weekend and go for a skid. Or skid less as it may well be.

Heavily based on...but has grown to 1037cc now amongst other things. Feels pretty lively. I'l take it home for the weekend and see how it goes when given a beating.

To me KB is still a reasonable place to come to talk with others, spoiled only by a few.

Hence I find it rather ridiculous that the mods have binned my honest question to Mr Quasievil along with a whole lot of other posts from this thread.

10 years ago he used to be a reasonable member of this group and I don't understand why he needs to be so bitter, especially on a thread about the DL1000 which I am sure is a very nice bike. Just too heavy for my liking.
    Cheers

    Merv

Please feel free to ask again. I really don't want to de-rail this thread again, but the crap between two participants doesn't need to spread across multiple threads. Removing only part of the crap makes posts quoting a deleted post confusing, so anything related was removed, to "encourage" no more repetition of the previous crap.

The new DL may have a few customers amongst mates, namely, those after a semi-adventure bike, without the price tag of a BMW (2 already have BMWs, one has the older 650 strom).
