Still have to do mine. There's such a small space, with the silencer and swinarm in front of the chain and sprocket its going to have to be tiny, more of a guppy fin than a shark fin.

Looking at the results I can see there's going to be some stories coming.....

For the benefit of those of us not there or not familiar with the individuals, can someone post a list of who rode what please.

Nathaniel rides an 85cc 2 stroke Derbi with maybe 20hp. Simple, lightweight, good handling, well ridden.

What a fantastic weekend, sorry for Scott after a stunning 16 laps, Hard luck to Rich after he batteled so hard with Caleb and others to chase the leaders down, great effort sorry to see you on the ground, Aaron had such a good race, learning a complicated track in one day on a bike he has only ridden a hand full of times, finishing 2nd after hunting down and passing Reagan. Brilliant !!
Nathaniel is a bloody hero, to win from pole the F5 GP 30laps and then do 40laps in the F4 GP and dominate the race is amazing and we think has never been done before ..I am over the moon to Finnish 4th with a PB lap time in a field of talented riders ...thanks to Mel,Tim,Brian, Kamill, amcc bucket committee and Cully did a fantastic job controlling us all, a thankless task, a struggle to do right from wrong he did a magic job !

did anyone see what temperature it was yesterday? it wasn't muggy, just stinking hot, and I was glad I. Didn't have to wear leathers.
Rick, you need to get young William to write a report about his race.

Awesome weekend, rolled up Friday to be greeted by the biggest line up of bucket sidecars I've ever seen and the set wasn't close to complete yet. Got the tent up and started catching up with folks from around the place.

Saturday morning arrived after a not so flash nights sleep after the air bed went flat.
Pulled the bikes out, did all the usual pre race checks and into it. I can't remember what order things went in so will go by class.

F5 I took the bike out for a few laps to make sure it would go and left it at that. The old XR powered FXR frame isn't that fast but still fun but with a lot of riding on the schedule for the weekend didn't want to completely wear myself out.

F4 used the practices to find my way around the track again and find some speed, things were sliding around a bit so the new tyres that I been saving for the GP went on.
Race one was entertaining with a bit of sliding around while the tyres scrubbed in. I'd also gone down two teeth on the rear sprocket at the same time to try and save the up and down shift coming up the hill, that worked but it was woes everywhere else so I pulled in early to change the gearing back.
Race two was much better and I tacked onto The back of Rod which helped me find a bit more pace and some speed heading down the hill through the right hander, man that corner is fast.

Sidecars we went out for practice one which was also qualifying and Rick immediately started smashing in hot laps, the thing was sliding all over the place and flying the rear wheel in places as well as the side wheel, in hindsight that should have given us pause for thought.
GP rocked round and Pumba monster end us off the line and made the battle truck as wide as he could, we couldn't find a way past and the Lawrences slid past us and the pace was up. It was down to two at the front when Carl and Ieda threw a chain and we got past the Lawrences with a bit of yellow flag confusion and then pulled a gap. Once we had a comfortable lead Rick slowed up, normally I'd be encouraging him to push as hard as possible anyway but was glad to just maintain the gap and take the win, good thing in this case as after the race we saw that the welds at the front of the rig had cracked and if we had kept pushing would probably have had a failure very similar to the one on the battle truck.

    Sunday

F5 ken and I were on grid spots five and six with qualifying times exactly the same to withing a thousandth of a second so it looked like an interesting race. He got me off the start and led me around the track for the whole race with never more than about six feet in it. I got ahead for half a lap at one stage and spent the rest for the race trying to find a way through, great fun, the F5 bikes are huge fun to ride and way less physical that F4 and quite relaxing because of it, still seems odd how much the things are a wide open throttle. Result of fifth behind ken by not very much and really happy with that.

F4 with the new tyres scrubbed in and gearing right I managed to drop quite a bit of time and went faster than I ever have at Toke, I don't keep much track of lap time but I've never been into the limiter on the front straight before the hairpin before. Qualifying went well with the guys I consider my main competion (Malcolm and Rod) behind me on the grid.
Off the start Malcolm got an absolute flyer and shot past into turn one and I settled in behind him for what felt like a lot of laps trying to find a way past before I managed to out drive him onto the straight and then put my head down trying to pull a gap. Since he's on a two stroke he can be right on my back wheel and I have no idea he's there. As the race wound down he must have faded more than I did since I could see him coming into the hairpin as I was heading down the back straight so I knew I had a bit of a gap which was a relief as I was running out of steam and making mistakes two or three times a lap, not getting on the lines I wanted, braking both early and late and forgetting to up shift coming up the hill, with about four laps to go the bike started getting louder and louder as the header started to part company with the head and the bolts rattled loose. Must lock wire those two bolts. Nursed it home for tenth and was damn happy to cross the line with the bike still going and still able to ride, the last ten laps were an absolute mission with my knees, back and arms all starting to feel like they were made of jelly. You know things are getting close to the point of give up before you crash when you are breathing like a train through your mouth and all you can taste is salt.

Stoked with my results for the day and I shouldn't be that suprised to be feeling smashed after close to seventy laps of racing.

Huge vote of thanks again to all the guys that organised, Robyn for being the steward, Cully and Michelle for standing in the infield all day, Mel and Brian for sign on and running around even thought they weren't riding and Tim for sitting in the chook shed all day doing the timing.
    Bloody good weekend all round.
    Stock is best

I can tell you mine very quickly (Bike 84, DNF). It stopped and dont go no more.

Well looks like my bad luck at Tokoroa continues (4 meetings I have been too, and I dont think I have finished the main race of the day at any of them), which sucks because I love that track!

Big thanks to all that made the event happen. Roll on next year.

For the record Qkkid was in my bed, not the other way round

    F5's fantastic formula fiasco

Well what a weekend. It really was a Fiasco for me. Sat went out found my way around the track again, did 2 practices on the 100 and was 2nd fastest in the first & fastest in the 2nd. but the 100 was a beast to ride in the bottom 1/2 of the track, the power hits so hard and the corners are so tight & close together you find yourself leant right over in a low gear. It just goes vertical and sideways at the same time. I was even getting headshake accelerating of the top of the hill corner onto the finish straight as the front went up.

The first race I lead for 2 or 3 laps but scared myself silly, almost pooped myself & ran out of any remaining talent so I let everyone past & became a gibbering mess. I never got back to the same laptimes (only high 43s) I was doing at the first practices. Instead of getting faster learning the track that I don't have many miles on, I was getting slower & feeling old.

The 50 broke the backing plate so I drove into Tokaroa to try find some chap to weld it with some loose instructions. I didn't find the place but got a number. A 2nd trip into town later I got him on the run but he kindly fixed it. Much missed practice & turns out I couldn't even match my 50s times from last year. Nathanial was like over 2s a lap quicker at 54 flat. Decided I needed to think about it.

Next day a new attitude and want to concentrate on the 50 & just ride the 100. Helmet toppled off seat and pinged off the visor shooting bits everywhere. both practices missed finding parts and McGivoring them back with springs from ballpoint pen.

50 started making sense & I was at least back at 46,5. Went out on 100 & it was messing with my head so I pulled in after 3 laps of qual.

Start of 50 race and even in warm up laps I could tell something was up. Start of race and I got a good start but Nathanial just pulled away every gear. Again & again. You know that almost made me feel better. Sad fat old man yes, but what I need is more power to redress the inequity & then maybe it will be a race. Race itself went easy.

F4: Due to my 3 terrible qual laps & was 18th on the grid with only a couple behind me. I got a crap vertical start & blocked so I circulated & picked people off. I'd decided to only do 1/2 the race but pressed on as I was feeling ok. Bike was pretty slow by now & Cully held out a board that I couldn't read despite slowing for it but he waved me on & onwards I went. Towards the end I got some step-outs from the rear. I'd been avoiding looking at the rear slick as I knew it was worn pretty bad, just haven't had the pingas to replace it. Same 2nd hand one I had last GP & its done BOB & club racing as well.

The board said 'smoking' apparently. Sure was no issue with impromptu wheelies any more, just slow.

Ended up in 8th, but was pretty sore of wrist after braking for that ridiculous downhill hairpin for 2 GPs worth of racing.

Oh yeah, towards the end there was some smash near the start finish & I saw a blue bike perhaps being carried off?
