Ahh, yeah, DaveM said his shock/mount bolt broke & next second the bike was a chopper. He was glad it didn't happen on a corner
Nataniel was riding his Dad's bike which is the more powerful of the two.
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.
Oh yeah, Ken's bike was like scary to watch. - Nothing, Everything, Nothing, Everything,.
You could see the jerking the rear wheel was getting. Must say I decided to give a wide berth. Brave man, for however long that lasted.

Well Dave, looks like you've got a big track motor there....Am I right in drawing the conclusion already that mid 20's HP with a wide powerband may be the recipe for Kart tracks ? Well ridden of course....
Oh shit, where have I heard that before ?
Old school transfers, limited blowdown make for hard hitting peaky power. My engine is unashamedly old school proof of concept get it going & see if the case reed bottom end is viable then build another barrel & matching pipe. Hasn't happened yet & the old barrel is a liability from a sealing point of view. New plans (from 4 yrs ago) being modified and redrafted after a phone call this morning.
BTW Nigel sez we must be so scared that we kept the GP a secret from him so he wouldn't show up.Well he said that was his excuse for not showing up.

Ken's bike was scary to sit on too..
After 4 laps it was obvoius I was just going to cause other people problems so was heading for the pits when it just stopped for good. Will do a post-mortem later in the week
The mighty 50 however was a whole other story - 4th place in the GP is a pretty good first race result with next to no set-up time and I am very grateful to Michelle for not letting Henk ride her bike - that race was a lot of fun.. Cheers Henk !!
I was helping Team Schnanny but only know what was up until I departed Tokoroa. I'd built an engine for Gary's bike from a bottom end he found and Dave's H100 cylinder. It was blowing a little smoke from the get-go but seemed to be running OK when first tried at Mt Wgtn and later at Tokoroa. Funny spots on the plug and piston but the pipe exit looked good. We fired it up Sunday and I reckoned it was a bit noisy in the bottom end so checked the gearbox oil which was well down. We topped it up and Cricket went out for the first Sunday practice and all good, though it was blowing smoke again. Then Gary went out but came back 2 laps later saying it started making an awful noise. We whipped the clutch cover off to find the brand new transmission oil was now a lovely grey colour with a silver fleck that sparkled beautifully in the sun. End of the meeting for #3.
#94 has my good engine in it though it is a bit down on hp after the last rebuild. As per facebook the shock mounting bolt broke.
Pretty annoying all round as DaveM was keen as, and a lot of effort had gone into sorting Gary's bike for him and Cricket.
Big thanks to Gary for letting Cricket ride his bike at every recent meeting.
I had a great time peddling around in the F5 GP, first time on a bike in quite.
Same track, same weekend...
Would be good to see him back in the mix.
Amazing effort!
Good 100 or bad 100 Henk smashed me all the same
Most Improved Rider - Ever
Shit, he looked to be flying!
I had a bloody good time chasing you down!
How much power is that old girl packing?

The Chairs
We went far slower than expected in the Sidecar GP.
Brenton's Rig was running well up until the main race, we qualified 3rd.
Then it ran like shit.
Then the gear lever came off.
Alan shifted and we made do with about half or less power.
Found out later the choke was on.
Bugger!
Luck attrition meant we still ended in!
F5
Bike wasn't running that great, expected it to load up off the line and die a bit but it was really bad.
Stuck at the back I managed to catch Rob and had a good battle, the others were all too far gone though.
I had an absolute blast riding this thing, I loved the different 'buzz' quite meditative, avoiding 'the scrub' at all costs!
F4
So Tired.
Too Tired, faded bad, body stopped working, couldn't shift right any more kept making mistakes.
Huge Credit to Nathaniel who did the F5/F4 double and won both, that's great endurance!
Ended in 11th.
Henk beat me in 3 out of 3.
HE deserved the 'wins' too.
I owe him a few drinks now...
