Said it before - It's in China.

FYI that is a good series that kiwis should download, as I doubt it will make it to NZ tv. I'm currently watching it on Amazon Prime.

Was apparently aired here in 2012.

Sounds like something from Fringe too. Perhaps the plane flew through an opening in the space/time continuum and travelled to the other universe, where they're having lunch with Leonard Nimoy...

heh - probably. Aired at midnight or some crap. I don't recall seeing ads for it in 2012.

Hopefully - otherwise they are stuck in tree gum.

I heard you can just hold a wee makeup mirror out the window to deflect any of those pesky radarz so you don't even need to worry about turning the airplanes 'pings' off. Score!

Leonard Nimoy is alive and well (so far) and living in this universe presently. He does have that COPD thing which will eventually kill him. And he gave up smoking 30 years ago.

Where did they get the 5000ft idea from?
Also, if the hourly 'ping' indicates a trajectory on a north or south arc, why havent they shown 7 arcs for the 7 hours of pings? Then they'd be able to dramatically deduce the flight path mh370 was on.
Who knows where the 5000' idea originated - slip of the tongue? Somebody wanted to push their theory that the crew were flying nap of the Earth to avoid detection?

Some site quoted a source as saying the ping confirmed an offset angle of 40º from the centre of the geostationary satellite footprint. How that works, I haven't a clue - maybe you can nut it out. But seemingly there's no way to differentiate a ping North from South of the equator, if that helps.

The most value the pings seem to offer is confirmation that the a/c was still intact 6 hours after the transponder went offline.
