Actually they can track that (in the next 20 days). So its not as bad as it sounds. Problem they faced was which direction they plane went......not where the ocean currents go.

Oh, I thought they said only 30 days of battery...? Been 17 days so far.... 2 weeks to go.

I also thought the pings were only good for about 10km range from the boxes? Was that correct?? Don't know. But if it is, and the water is 5kms deep, thats only about a 9km radius above the boxes... not alot of hope in finding them really....

Exactly Pete. At least now knowing that the plane has gone down and where it has gone down will give the families some sort of closure but the reasoning as to why may never be discovered as there are so many possible scenarios. It may turn out to be one of the great aviation mysteries.

Yip agree. Even though the families and friends always knew the likely outcome, it doesn't make it any easier when it is actually confirmed

I heard a good interview this morning with a specialist whom claims that this incident was carried out with the utmost skill and precision. It was designed so that the wreckage and data recorders are not ever found.

The cnut responsible can rot in hell for the taking of innocent lives, just because he finally discover what most already know. All governments are corrupt and everyone knows that if you don't want to get personal faarked, you need to keep your head below their perceived radar.
