    1998 CBR900RR 17" front wheel conversion?

Has anybody got a 1998 CBR900RR Honda Fireblade which they've converted to a 17 inch front wheel?

I bought one damaged, and since the 16" front was munted and everyone seems to like putting a 17" on, I did so. Bought a wheel from a mid 90s Honda 600 F3 and it fitted on.

Now the new wheel doesn't fit the old disks, and the F3 disks don't fit the old brakes. I'd read that the 1999 1100XX Blackbird disks fitted both.

I bought them, and yes they do fit the wheel, but the offset is such that they drag the entire time - the sit too far out and compress the brakes, making the bike... unridable.

Does anybody with first hand experience have suggestions/solutions?

Cheers, that's what I've been wondering. Am slightly hesitant about fucking with the front brakes on a bike with 130hp, so I'll have to see how big the difference is...

Yeah I've read that thread and another started by a guy who posts advice in that thread. Selections include:

If you use an f3 wheel on a 98-99 900 get front brake rotors from a 97-98 1100xx - they are a direct bolt up to the wheel and the same diameter as the 900 rotors - no modifications or shimming of the calipers needed, this what I have on my 98. The later 1100xx, f4, and vtr wheels all have the same bolt pattern for the brake rotors as the 900 but may need some work to get the rotors centered in the calipers.
And essentially the same thing posted in this thread: http://www.perthstreetbikes.com/foru...-model-112086/

I have the F3 wheel, got the spacers made so it fits the forks, all that works fine, bought the apparently correct disks... and no luck? Or have I missed something?
