    Blah Hi HO

    Yo all , recently got a Honda CX650 been off bikes for a few years thought it was about time to get back on .

    holy shit. i had an 81 cx500 - ran like a sewing machine it did til i blew the head gasket and cooked it coming DOWN the kaimais at about 4am one morning - the temp change was just too much for it i think.

    the econohonda guy at te aroha races them - he's got HEAPS of spares for them. i might have a gasket set for the 500 here somewhere - rocker covers i think. i'm sure they'll be the same

    Hi there - welcome back to riding! I had two CX500's - they were great bikes, I did big miles on both of mine. The first model ("A") was much better as it had a manual cam chain tensioner. Did over 70,000 trouble free kms in a couple of years. Then got the "C" model (NOT the custom!) and did about 50,000kms but it had an automatic cam chain tensioner which meant it chewed through cam chains a bit. Very underated bikes, not brilliant at anything, but did everything well.
