A ‘friend’ told me his mate cured the sudden death routine sighting that the ignition timing was incorrect from the factory & so by retarding the middle cylinder (presumably by slotting & rotating the pulsar coil) the issue went away.
Take it with a pinch of salt, but it would be worth dialling it up to see. I mean there must have been a reason, they were watercooled. Staggered jetting may help too.
