You cant be late until you show up.
:
Okoroire, Thurs 5th, ie-tomorrow!
BOP riders, and/or any others from further yonder, ride to Okoroire for a meal/brew...
It's a great spot, biker friendly, even comes with a deck from which to listen to bikes 'tink tink' as they cool down!
We could meet at the Bikeforce BP station at 5.30, leave at 5.45...
Short notice i know, but hey, at least it's good news, innit?
We could possibly loop back via Tauranga...
I know WeeStromer is keen, possibly Blackbird...anyone else?

who needs "hassle free" broad-band when you can have slow-arse dial-up to help you muck things up?!

I'm guessing I'll be the only one posting a completed report on here.
No-show by the Rotopikers.
Contacted Geoff to see what the weather was like down his way at 4.30. And sounded better than here, so doned wets and with Clare set off in light rain.
Speed limit all the way and of particular note,... Wow those shiny spots are sure slippery but the best was the camera van parked on the Piarere straights above the river. The van stratigically did a rear window wipe just before we passed it. Now I understand those vans are manned.. (Can you imagine how many would survive if they werent!!) .. But can you imagine being the operator with your hand on the wiper control and looking back to know when to wipe and when not to!!! Sad lot of sorry arses I'd say. As it happened my X50 had pre-warned me of their presence so no click-flash.
Next interesting sight was a tow truck, Police car and some others on one of the wet corners before the Pub. The car was parked in the padock but looked like it had rolled as it went through the fence. On my pervious trip down that road it appeared to have numerious deceptive bends so as well as it being wet I was taking it pretty easy. Tho to come around a corner and encounter a tow truck and more I hit the brakes pretty hard thinking there could be debris across the road. Fortunately there were none and was able to stay upright and carry on.
Made it to Okororie, there were 3 other bikes there a Buel and ?? was raining and dont remember.
Rain was pretty much gone when we came to leave after a Tai Chicken Curry and ice cream sundae, but still put the wets back on. Uneventful return, tho the camera van was still there. Got back to Hamilton to a beaut sunset and drying roads. A nice outing shared with my lovely wife.
Aww dude!
Now i'm feelin' pretty low-life like...!
r4q2 and i started heading over, stopped to 'don' our wet weathers hoping it would get better... As we came up to the Kaimais/Mamakus (?) it looked black and hideous, and by this stage we were soaked!
On top of that,my front r/h is pretty smooth, so we 'made the call'.
So yeah, I feel stink for not showing up;i'll PM you my mobile so we can double check next time...
Sorry bro, glad to hear to enjoyed the soiree tho, and got home safe!
PS - but thanks for the Ride Report!
