Time for boots!

Ok guys, thanks for all your help about gloves a few days ago, I actually ended up getting two pairs (an Rjays and a Revvit Monster) for when the weather starts sucking.

This weekend I'm getting boots. What boots should I get?
I don't want to spend more than 200. Also I wouldn't mind something I can walk around in but if not I can always pack some jandals under the seat and swap foot wear after I get where I'm going.

I've never worn boots that are any good for walking around in, but I wear race boots rather than road style.

That said, I think my Gearne boots were great value, but they were pretty new to the scene when I got them. They're a bit higher in price now, but the road boots should come in at under $200.

Well having looked at the site that might be a bit optimistic but there are some boots for less than $200.

I'd recommend strongly a set that fit and that you can afford. Go to a bike shop that sells boots. Remember that your feet are different. The left boot will fit best on your left foot and the right one on your right foot.

Agree, just arrived my new well made Gaerne's from Itali via E Bay ($229 including freight) i thankfully ordered a size up, perfect fit and comfy to walk about in, no more soggy feet

And as Hitcher quips about "right boot to right foot", from experience long time ago when the earth was green and there were humped back camels and chimpa.....ah! ...where after some k's of riding figured that one boot was slightly bigger than the other never thought to check tags or soles as they came in same box and were just put on and lived in as one does.
Must have got mixed while on shop display, never mind....so some one out there likely has the other odd pair

I really rate SIDI boots. They fit me very well and have been very robust.

I recently bought a pair of Stylmartin "Indian" boots (google)which you would wear to walk around in. They are laceup and a bit of a faff but comfortable on, and have malloleus (sp?) protection and such. Very happy with them. Expensive as shit though: I got mine online before they were imported here. Not sure that whoever is importing them brings that model. Mine came from Motolegends out of the UK.

I used to work in a bike shop. I often found pairs with two left feet or the other way round. Sometimes even different sizes. No pair to be found. Leave them somewhere easy to find and someone normally sneaks the one they did no want back and legs it with the one they did.
