    Diaphram
The FXR has problems with the diaphram
How to diagnose and fix a broken diaphram:

Power loss in the high end, (engine ringing out & no power output).
Open up Carby and check the rubber for holes, if this is the case it needs replacing. Power will return.

    Could that be it??

FXRs are also known for developing big end and main bearing knocks if the oil level as got low once too often or not been changed often enough. If that's the case, there's a good chance she's fucked.
