The tone is set for the day...

Woke up early this morning and found one of the cats had been sick on the carpet in the spare room - god knows where he ate last night as it had peas in it! (Obviously the cat equivalent of diced carrots!) I cleaned that up and then the kitten brings in a silvereye and lets it go in the bedroom - where it flies away and promptly shits on the cream curtains.

I'm meant to be going for a ride today and I look outside and see it's drizzling.

Can't wait to see what the rest of the day brings!

The drizzle has stopped but there is still no sun and the wind has picked up. The person I was going to meet for a ride said it's blowing a gale in Wellington so we are going to reschedule our ride/lunch for a nicer day.

If you'd got this in time, Sels1, you could have called in for a coffee on the way through!

Thanks Sniper, I owe you one!

You'll be right. Think positive. We all have things that go wrong. It's how you handle them that counts. I've just had that 'off' on the bike, but I'm..... ..... handling it. No, really, I am.

I would love to, but I've got three articles to have done by Monday and I want to go up to the Manfeild track day for a look on Sunday so I better get some work done or I won't get paid!

You thought you had a bad day? What about the silver-eye, I bet he didn't think his day was going too flash either!

Well it's not as bad as the start to my day yesterday - got to work at 6am, had some brekkie, checked my truck off, then nature started calling so I headed to my throne, and as I undid my belt buckle my cellphone decided to do a theatrical leap into the air and then a graceful dive into the toilet.

So people, don't bother trying to ring me on my cellphone at the moment.

At least he lived to tell the tale! I thought it was dead but when I got the kitten to let go (gentle squeeze around the throat!) it flew across the room. We then thought it was a goner when it flew into the living room and promptly crashed into the floor-to-ceiling glass doors, but when my husband picked it up (glad we live in the country - sans clothing!) and put it out on a chair on the deck, it flew off straight away!

And the day HAS improved, I may have missed out on the ride with a friend, but I got one article written, heard that another will be in the October edition of Next, and got two proofreading assignments!

And I forgot to mention my good fortune yesterday - I got sent a 12 pack of free toilet paper! I'd complained about a roll that was only one ply in parts so they sent me some replacements!

So if the shit DOES hit the fan, I've got it covered!

Cat to his Mate- "I was on the catnip last night, and some bastard must've sneaked up on me and shoved a paw full of peas down my throat.Have you ever noticed that puke always has peas in it?It's not the catnip that makes you sick. It's the bugger that waits till you are wasted and stuffs peas down your throat."
