weeeel. Guess whosa fuken moron today.
Only 2 phases at the house. (took the covers off shit. Should problya done that sooner)
:brickwall:
so, someone hook me up with a >2kw single phase motor.
Also, got the sparkie out, reckons 6mm cable good for 32A. (also reckons 3grand to put 3 phase on deck. Fkuc!)
Gonna set some shit on fire!
as much as id love a 30a rpc. No.
$$!
And not the most efficient in terms of power used v wasted. Might as well use the motor to drive the machine, rather than generate to drive the next motor to drive the machines.
Havent dug too far into vfds as price vs ease makes the single phase motor the best option afaik...
But if you have one going cheap or free?
more of this. since i've knocked a few things off the top of the to-do list.
so. existing demarc -> main panel, 2ph
i want to add demarc (fork)- shed sub panel 2ph - RPC (seems the bestest bet) - 3ph panel - all shed power (lights and power balanced across 3phases)
my main question, now, is - do i need to drag neutral and earth over from the demarc, or can i whang a new earth in close to the shed in good ground?
and also, but not so much, if i run fluro tubes on two different phases, they're safe to work on spinny woosh-woosh machines, being that the 50hz flicker cancel each other out, right?
chur guy. chur.
You could try engaging a professional and pay them for their hard earned knowledge and expertise and save yourself some money and possibly your life!

I have been a sparky since the 80s.
My advice is you need to find a sparky to do the work.
Preferably one who speaks gibberish cause I don't know what the fork your talking about
I have evolved as a KB member. Now nothing I say should be taken seriously.
