    Makes me wonder about those knobs that mount their swanky mountainbikes standing up on top of their 4wds. Bet those get ripped off on a regular basis.

    That said if you've ever driven under the Karori mall you can find that the cross-members on the car park roof are pretty low and a real trap is that once you are in & in the dark area there are one or two that are lower. I decided after that to take the silly roof-rack off my van it came with. I was helped with the other, but no damage so I can laugh at myself .

    Used to see that sort of thing a bit on Clarendon Tce in Chch on the morning commute a few years back.

    Also got a pic of a couple of mm's clearance between me and the supports at Riccarton mall in one of my old cars too. Hit the clearance sign on the way out on the other side of the mall but wasn't even close to the one that I checked on the way in...

    They're there so you can open the boot...didn't realize it was an upperclass thing to want to do that
