    2014 gsx-r600

Anyone else considering buying a brand new GSXR600. Suzuki have been advertising the new bikes for $12,995. That's a sportsbike for a commuter bike price tag! I saw the 750 was about $15,000 as well.....

The R6 and CBR600 are around the $17-18,000 mark.

I'd presume they are much of a muchness. But that's a massive saving for a new bike!

Are you sure it's the 2014 model?

I seem to recall hearing it was a whole lot of leftover ( new ) 2011 models.

Love to be proven wrong as I'd consider getting a 2014 gixxer 600 at an almost giveaway price!

The one I was was listed as an L1, someone will be able to know if that's old stock or not. Even if it is old stock, still not a bad price. Wouldn't imagine it would depreciate as fast as any other new bike.

They are 2011 models. The only difference between 2011 and 2014 are the colours.

    Wow.

Suzuki have had the thou on sale for a while now, as it was "old" 2013 stock. http://www.suzuki.co.nz/Motorcycle/Sport/

Grab yourself a slice of unmatched racing heritage - and save $3,000 in the process. We’ve got the last of the 2013 model GSX-R1000s - in Blue/white only - for just $18,990 plus on road costs. So for a limited time, everyone wins!
Makes an interesting spread of prices:

    600 : $18,990 + ORC
    760 : $18,995 + ORC
    1000 : $18,495 + ORC

... but that TradeMe price is wild ($16,995). Part of my brain says "your current bike would cover the deposit" ... then I tell it to get back to dreaming.

Wellington Motorcycles have been advertising those L1 600's in the DomPost for a month or two now ($12,995).
Measure once, cut twice. Practice makes perfect.

Talked with Mr. Suzuki today..... The 750 looks good for $15,000.... And that's the 2013 model.

Didn't realise the hayabusa is on sale as well for $17,995.

I've only ever heard good things about the 750, it's cheaper and will do exceptionally well at anything I will use it for.

The 750 Never seems to get bad reviews, seems to be the bike that everyone says does everything well, the only bikes that compete with it are italian and for a much higher price.

If they are going to give you a good trade on the z1000 I would say go for it.
I felt an emotion bubbling up from the inside.
    It was warm.
    Is coffee an emotion?

Ive been looking at this for ages. If I could get a good trade on my Hornet I would go a 750. Ive not read a bad thing about them and seem to be good everyday bikes as well as good track day bikes.

I want one badly. Am currently looking at a 04 CBR1000rr but would prefer the 750.

You don't need to rev it out as much as you do with the 600 to get it going and it does not have all the insanity (note 'all of the insanity' as some of it is still present) of the 1000, which is not needed at all off the track anyway. In my opinion it handles a bit better than the 1000 in the twisties (at least it felt like it to me with the earlier generations) and thus is more fun. I think the 750 is an excellent choice (close to ideal) for a IL4 road race bike.
