    Re-chroming fork tubes?

    Does anybody in Auck re-chrome fork tubes?

    Just trying to work out if its economic to fix my bike.

    Yes, there is a guy who from memory is/was just off the SH1 motorway around Penrose. However, you will need to send your forks to a precision machinist to get the old chrome ground off first. Then send them to the plater with instructions as to how much chrome you want put on. I live in Wgtn and had mine ground down here and then sent them up to Akl for the chroming. Cost was around $600 all up but that was 5 yrs ago. Sorry I cant tell you the name of the platers but he was in the yellow pages.

    Have a look at http://www.wemoto.com/ they sell new stanchions

    I needed re chroming on my GSXR1100 forks and found buying new was cheaper.

    I have bought a new leg. Turns out Honda had them on sale.
