Hola Amigos! New member (Hashbandicoot)
Hi KiwiBikers! Joined this forum after some punting around the internet. I've always thought bikes looked cool but never rode them on the open road - done some arsing about in paddocks and whatnot when I was younger. Two weeks ago I took a friends Suzuki Boulevard out for a spin, opened the throttle, almost shat myself, then decided it was time to start riding bikes.
Did my handling test last week and got my learner license this morning.
I'm new to NZ as well. I left the UK because I was bored with the rubbishy weather and some other "life" crap.
I haven't even got myself some wheels yet so I welcome any advice you might want to throw my way. Was thinking of getting something around the 250cc mark for commuting. I've had some advice from dealers suggesting I go for a larger (read 500cc) bike but I wonder if they are just trying to flog me a more expensive machine...
Some other interests include drum'n'bass, home brewing and archery.
Cheers!
