I've upload this csv file into my navigation system and so been pretty good at warning me of where these fixed speed cameras are.

I've seen the constant bumper to bumper traffic up there. Id be surprised if one could get a speeding ticket. Mind you if they are still dishing out tickets for 3kph over the limit I spose it is possible.

Zenbu has help but again some cameras missing and location can be out. Eg has one camera in a church

    They are still trying...
Knowing Liarbour's love of taxation, guess we'll find out before the end of this term in gubbinment.

You can update them. Then it won't be just you who benefits from your labours.

Cheers for the info, didn't realise you can update them. Once I go though all 83 cameras and verify there location down to a few meters or whether the fixed speed camera exists. When you look at the csv file the ones marked with a * at the end of the address means I've verified there location using Google maps and street view.

What's happened to the speed camera vans? I used to see at least one regularly while driving south on SH1 from Auckland, but haven't seen one for ages now.

They are still around, I do this trip weekly and see them every second or third trip.

Yea definitely still round I usually see them on passing lanes near the start, but they've also started parking after traffic lights about where you'd hit the 100km/h mark (or just over they're hoping)

Often on the straights just south of the Rangiriri pub (though there's been a dead Odyssey/people mover there for a few weeks which plays tricks on me). Heading north and south - they like to park in/near the little layby bits near the ex-Wool Scourer building.

Occasionally at the bit where it becomes two lanes, south of the roadworks that are just north of Rangiriri.

Occasionally coming down the Bombays (just after the turn off to either Tga or the Coromandel, big long straight hill). This is normally a cop parked after the overbridge but the vans can be just around the corner.

Oh and sometimes on the big straight after Papakura before you climb the hill (heading south). I think I've only ever seen a cop heading south, not a van, but sometimes a van when heading north.

Mercer is another one. Both before Mercer turnoff (Hampton side, near the river, Island Block sort of area, there's a little carpark/layby on the river side where they like to park the vans), and on the long straight after Mobil, before you climb the Bombays, going north - usually a van, but same place going south is often a cop.

Heading south, at the bottom of the Bombay hill there is the left turn-off towards Coromandle. Immediately after that there is the flyover bridge for traffic coming from Coro, back to Auckland.
Immediately after that bridge (still heading south) is the link for traffic wanting to head south from the Coro and head south. That very point is a favoured spot for cop cars to sit and be completely hidden from view of traffic heading south on SH1. Radar or laser from behind, so be aware around that area.

Thanks! I've seen cops in most of those places, just not very often recently.

The new median and roadside barriers between Pokeno and Mercer have spoiled a few of their favourite hiding places, but I did see one hero who'd stopped on the shoulder around one of the corners south of Pokeno with maybe a metre between his car and the LH lane.
