    Kerbal Space Program

    http://www.kerbalspaceprogram.com/

Easy to use little game where you create your own space rockets.

You can probably do quite a few things with this game. I am just aiming for high launch g-force. Currently launching at a brain draining 10.9g.

    Good time waster

Hopefully I'll get bored of mashing the little fuckers into the ground soon though.

So what do you do after you fly into space? I got a few million kays away from the planet then got bored of all the blackness. Needs guns. Lots of guns.

They should be adding planets in the next version.

Spaceplane mod pack is good value, add some side mount explosive bolts to some solid rockets, and they work kind of like bullets. Just figured out it is has manual control for the RCS, makes landing a bit more doable.

G force is easy, lightest fuel tank plus best power to weight rocket, 20.4g. (spaceplane and sunday punch mod packs)

New release is out with the moon.

Just orbited it a couple of times but got stuck in a 475km earth orbit by the narrowest margins, another 50m/s less and they would have been saved. Happy circling astronauts.

PS - table of orbiting speeds is here.... https://gist.github.com/1075144

So many wasted hours, but I landed on the mun, and made it back too. Many attempts later though, one fateful one where the altimeter shat out and I left a greasy kerbal like smear on the mun.

It appears to only do single body calculations, you can be affected by either kerbal, the mun, or the sun. Transitioning from one to the other unexpectedly can cause you to be flung way out of the system if you have the warp factor up to high.

In other time wasting game news, minecraft is coming out with the full version at the end of this week.
