A great day today (despite oil, gravel, dirt).

I think we all had fun, plus nice meal out...

    Game on for tomorrow.

Real question is, did your chair get its certification?

For the record Qkkid was in my bed, not the other way round

For anyone interested, kel took out all three races today quite comfortably. Some great battles between keiren, bert and I. Somehow managed to beat keiren in that last race for 3rd (0.2s off 2nd), pretty stoked.

There has been quite a bit if crap on the track after the super trucks, drifters, classic cars have been out so times haven't been as good as they might have been. Best time so far in the class is 1.28.286 by kel. Keirens was 1.29.3 and my own a 1.29.7. Best hyosung time was 1.29.7 by Jono Dol. Hopefully these times continue to drop in tomorrow's racing. Bloody good racing going down despite the small turnout.

    Taupo: Something to consider

Massive day so far. Amazing weather and the lap times are dropping.
Chris and Keiren carving up hyobags...

Kelly smoking the field: best lap so far 1:25.868
Not sure but must be very close to the best lap

    Buckets 1,2,3 nice...

Cheers Brent! Great weekend all round. I needed that big track fix (not so much the big hole in my leathers).
    Until next time

Best lap in the 2009 Gp on that track: 1m27.48

Ever so slightly slower than a really hot RG150 time:
    2ND 22 PATRICK DOOHAN SUZUKI RG 150 5 7m16.29 1m25.76 +0.17s

    Winning time in 2008:
    1ST 52 RICHARD FORD SUZUKI FXR 150 6 9m08.90 1m29.89 +0.00s

    Cool!

I think that was 2010, but either way still nearly 5 seconds slower than 2012

Massive thanks to Brent for hustling us up for this, I'm super happy I went. It was my first time on full sized track and I had a blast. A very well run event, definitely going back for the next one. I can understand bucket riders not being keen to race Hampton (straight city) but Taupo track 2 is the bomb! Even with 19hp, my FXR was a blast to ride and with more riders around it'd be even better. The straights aren't too long to be boring and there are enough challenging corners to create some big dogfights.

    Close battles were fought

    and pocket money won (horray)

    some fast times went down

    and some just went down

Best time of the weekend was by kel with a 1.25.862
    Kieren's best - 1.27.911
    Mine - 1.28.065
Brent - 1.33.557 (probably with only one contact lens in)
Best hyosung time of the weekend was 1.28.624

All the times dropped over the sessions and in the last two races the buckets were dominating.

Points for the weekend top 4:
    Kel: 25 (1st), 25 (1st), 25 (1st), 25 (1st), 25 (1st), DNF = 125
    Jono Dol (Hyosung): 20(2nd), 20(2nd), 20(2nd), 20(2nd), 13, 20(2nd) = 113
    Chris: 16(3rd), 13(4th), 16(3rd), 16(3rd), 20(2nd), 25(1st) = 106
    Kieren: 11(5th), 16(3rd), 13(4th), 13(4th), 16(3rd), 13(4th) = 82

Time for a video I guess. Should be uploaded in about 3 hours or so. Sorry about the engine sound, camera was mounted to a filthy foul stroke.

Actually, thinking about it that was the old foul stroke that I built so guess I took constructor honours for the meet
