    9th Annual Kiwibiker Gathering, Dannevirke, Queen's Birthday Weekend

    Moved it to Dannevirke this year for some different roads and because Tokaanu isn't viable any more. We went up last weekend for a reconnaissance mission and mapped out a couple of routes through some cool back roads.     WHAT IS THE KB GATHERING?
    An excuse for social minded motorcycle riders to ride during the day and eat, drink and be merry during the night.

    WHAT ARE WE DOING?
    Friday
    Some of will be arriving on Friday evening. This is optional as the main part of the 'Gathering' is from the Saturday to Monday.

    Saturday
    Those of us who arrived on Friday will be going for a ride/tiki tour during the day and arriving back at Valhallaz Tavern in good time to greet the rest of you as you arrive. Settle in for the night, eat, drink, tell lies and discuss routes for Sunday.

    Sunday
    Go for a group ride or multiple group rides depending on numbers. Some of us will be heading away to get back to the South Island. Dinner and drinks back at Valhallaz for those who are staying the night.

    Monday
    Say our goodbyes and head back home.


    WHEN IS IT HAPPENING?
    Saturday, May 31st, Sunday, June 1st and Monday, June 2nd. Some of us will be arriving on Friday night.

    *Bump*

    I'm on my 250 and will be going down on Friday evening/afternoon (depending on when I can bribe the boss to let me off work)

    since this will be my first Loooooon distance trips (have done a few 100 km jaunts, but not Auckland to Dannevirke and back) and wondering if any aucklanders are going for the ride down and if so - would they mind a wee little 250 bike with a great big fat bloke on it tagging along and having someone to ride with?

    Geez, that's 6 to 7 hours (depending on breaks). What time are you expecting to arrive?
