I have got to the point where it looks to be something in the Carb - if I get the Air gun and direct it into the Air intake, it starts to almost rev normally.
Drained the Carbs, cleaned the plugs, may drain the oil a little bit more as after warming the bike up, it is still up and around the Full mark.
At this rate however, it looks like the bike will be going back to auckland not under its own power

Float valves in the carbs is my call. Did the oil smell of petrol? Seem it a few times. Washes the bore and fills the sump.
Use a lot of petrol getting there?
A test will be to turn off your petcok valve and run the bike. See if it runs better just before it runs out of petrol in the carbs and stops.

If your filter is normally a dry filter and it is now soaked with oil, it may be struggling to breath,have you tried running the bike without the air cleaner?

Yes think they are vacuum but not 100% on that.
Drain oil, refill. Ride home turning fuel valve on and off.

Got home about 1pm today. Mint weather all weekend with some awesome roads and met some cool people. I had to cut the second day short when we came back from a coffee in Paihiatua and spotted a section of tyre on the point of delamination. After fruitless googling and phoning around, I was saved when a couple of the guys collared a passing Motorcycle HQ ute and in no time flat Simon from Motorcycle HQ had found and fitted me a tyre. He's got Pirelli tyres for all kinds of bikes and is thinking of starting a 24 hour callout service so keep them in mind if you're anywhere near and need a hand. He's also got a couple of bikes available to rent if your bike can't be fixed on the spot. Contact details are:

We sent the others on because we thought it would take ages to sort the tyre but were back on the road with a couple of extra hours to spare. We set off to find a road I'd done once, from Ashurst to Apiti to the Kimbolton road. It's an awesome road called Poihangina Valley East Road. Unfortunately I missed the turnoff from Poihangina Road to Poihangina Valley East Road and we ended up doing 30km of nasty gravel roads that you shouldn't really take a sportsbike on. All good fun in the end but I wouldn't have chosen to do it.

Highway Biker
Had a excellent weekend. Just over 1600km.The Valhallaz Tavern food was great. Most of the roads was a 1st for me. Did the Whanganui River Road on the way down to Dannevirke
Brian and I did the Saddle Road then the Poihangina Valley East Road. Coming out at Mangaweka today. Early morning at this time of the year gave us frost and ice on the road as well as shadows and sun strike. Would be good to do this road in the summer.

It's a shame I couldn't make itbut I got to do a fair few km on one of mine this weekend so that's okay.
