Thumbs up Mods to newly bought Hyosung GV650

    Hi Folks,

first post on here...just bought a 2009 Hyosung GV650 and love it. just did nearly 3000km in 9 days from Auckland - Queenstown - Auckland and the bike didnt miss a beat!

    Need some advice though,

looking for the best fitting heated grips (and ideally the cheapest) and most importantly recommendations for an aftermarket exhaust to make the bike sound better...

Ive seen the mods that involve cutting the inner pipe down by a few inches etc but the Hyosung dealer recommended not to do that. Dont know if their advice was because it genuinely isnt good for the bike or whether to encourage me to shell out for an exhaust with them.

Any help would be much appreciated. I like the look and feel of the bike but the heavily muffled sound just doesnt do it justice!

Is that the 'cruiser' model. Probably f-all in the way of mufflers out there so you'll need to do a custom fit. Does the main muffler unbold from the 2 into 1 header collector? If so it will be a easy fabrication to modify a muffler of your choice to fit. I'd be looking at a nice fat polished stainless reverse cone megaphone.

Google image search 'Hyosung GV650 custom' and you find some creative modified bike - they actually look cool!

Oxford heated grips, can get them for about $100 if you look hard enough.
    Easy DIY install too.

If its carbed it will need rejetting with a opened up pipe. Not hard to do. I did it on my GT650. Look on KO rider for specs.
