    Plonkers

    [rant-mode]
Grrrrr!!! (and by "Grrrr!!!" I mean, !!!
This morning's rant is about 'people' (and I use the term very loosely) who ride motorbicycles and have poor situational awareness.
    And/or no nads.
This morning, for the second time in recent epochs (or is it "E-Pox"?), my passage to my place of employment was hindered by not one, but two (2!!) 'fellow' bikers (I use the term 'fellow' advisedly) who refused to filter / lane-split, past the tortoise-like traffic in the transhit lane on Onewa Road, despite multiple opportunities to do so. "Fair enough - their right to choose", I hear you bleat, sheep-like, but why did the fookers sit to the right of the lane so I couldn't exercise my Dog-given right to do so? The whole 1.5 km, I was balked, hindered, and otherwise obstructed. One was on an SV650/SV1000, and following that was a noob on a Hy-ho-Silver! 250, with an "L" plate, who was immediately in front of me. This person knew I was there, but still refused to move left and let me past. Grrrrr!!!
Yes, I *know* lanesplitting / filtering is not legal. SO!?! What's the point of riding a motorbicyle though if you don't take advantage of its svelte dimensions and (comparatively) nippy acceleration? And shouldn't one have some consideration for one's fellow motorbicyclists (except, of course, if they're demonstrably inconsiderate eejits, of course.

A few weeks ago was even worse: I was right behind a beautiful MV Agusta, whose rider did the same thing, despite demonstrating that he/she knew I was there. Then, near the bottom of Onewa Road, when there was finally no traffic at all in front of it, it blasted off into the stratosphere at about 120 km/h, while still in a 50km/h zone. What a friggen hero. Fast is easy; learn to ride, you plonker, and split past the snail-like mobile roadblocks.

    [/rant-mode]
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

I agree entirely and support your right to rant.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

Used to be a regular down there myself and had it a bit a few times, but never got completely held up. Certainly the phrase "shit or get off the pot" springs to mind. I suggest you enquire about an accessory kit from the makers of "Wheelie Big Cheese"...

I was very tempted to tootle them melodiously with my three (3!) Ridiculously Loud Horns (TM), but I thought this would be worngA, as they're almost exclusively reserved for waking brain-dead car drivers. Oh - and pedestrians and cyclists (I don't wish to run over any more of those - it hurts and costs too much...)

I too have this issue - normally I find it is harley riders trying to move their american land whales through traffic without scratching all that chrome and never think to look in their mirrors.

it really does get on my tits sometimes - check yer mirrors once in a while and if someone is behind you, move over and let them pass!

Totally agree. I very rarely lane split as Chch cagers can be complete retards about it, but I don't stop other bikers taking that golden opportunity just cos I'm a Pussy.

Since living closer to you Ian, I/We have noticed the pure arrogance, of a small percentage of those who ride motorbikes. I would seem that in some cases, when a biker gears up and starts the bike, something changes within, they become more entitled than other road users.

Then there are those who just fuck off the country and sponge off the tax payer till life's end.

Yeah... nah.... I'm not entirely sure it was arrogance (or did you mean on my part? Could be...) I think they were just unaware that they were holding me up. Farkn annoying though....

The same can be said about most cagers.

no one ever moves over for me either,i think its because im on a scooter,i find it real embarrassing having to cross over lanes and ride around them, especially the ones whose riders have round white lettering on the back of their leather coats
