    Timing apps?

Do many people on here use their phone for data logging while on the track?
What app do you use for timing? ideally for an Iphone.

This is for Android, but Samsung Galaxy S phones are cheap as and if you crash you don't trash a $1000 iphone.

Yep Racechrono is good but not accurate with ph gps, I bought a bluetooth 10hz receiver to use with ph and racechrono.......brilliant. Works within a thousanth and ya can keep ph in ya inside pocket.

Garmin GLO is the receiver, about $120.

Thats what i normally do. But knowing what your lap times are the next day makes it harder to know when are where you are improving.

I've used the Racechrono on my phone, maps the track, shows green for accelerating and red for braking, max and min speeds, quite a good tool for looking at laps.
    chews the battery though.

    +1 to racechrono.

Free plug: I got a brand new unused QStarz BT-Q818XT which will give you 10Hz GPS (compare to 1HZ when using internal GPS on the phone) when paired with your smartphone

I've found this to be ok

    http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/moto...-726614015.htm

Has a habit of missing the trigger so out of a 10 lap session you might only get like 3 or 4 individual laps, the rest get mashed together.

Two of us use those ^ in buckets with no issues at all. Is the transmitter at the right height and is it on its side (red lights one on top of the other)?
