    2014 Ducati Monster

New 1200cc Monster for next year.

Untidy around the muffler but ..... I do dig the old air cooler S4R. Maybe I'm just old. It is a very nice example of how to minimise water cooling.

Nice, very nice. Not to keen on the Daivel style rear huger/number plate holder

Yeah it's fecking hideous. One of the first things I changed on my Diavel, side mounted Ducati holder wasn't over priced either.
That 1198 motor is divine and cheap as heck to service too

On the Cycle World link on the right side of their page there is also a likn to a new MV touring triple (did nothing for me) and the 2014 Z Kawa which appears to be styled by Martians. Somewhere this evening I also spied the new BMW S1000r 'naked' .......

Plus there is an article on the new Harley Davidson 500 and 750 V2 water cooled entry level bikes. They are to be made in india.

I thought the Monster was Ducatti's commuter bike?

135 hp, the detail and the stance of that bike.. looks awesome but not a commuter in my mind, I love the look of it but would this bike be competing for the same market as the streetfighter?

Especially the S with 145hp and Ohlins front and rear. Maybe they're dropping the Streetfighter.

Don't forget, a complete waste of time. Given that the motor is still a stressed member like.

I struggle to understand how that company gets away with the crap they put out. Failed GP tech, now available in more production models.

The trellis frame is a Ducati signature thing.

I saw a web site where some bespoke outfit has made a trellis 'frame' for the Pingale (SP?)

50 horses - can't have the Monster with the full snot engine, that would upset their marketing team.

The Monster as a 'commuter' bike? Never thought of it that way - Ducatis 'naked' range is more apt.

It's not just that it's a trellis frame that bothers me.

Can't have the nekkit one making full power? The S4R has 7 more ponies than a standard 998 according to these roosters. http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/mod...i_998%2002.htm

Course not. Without any plastic holding them in the horses just wander off.

Not until after they stopped making the 998 though. The 2003 model S4R had 10hp less than a 998.

Fecked if I know then - they dumped the 1200 Streetfighter, so this is their hottest 'naked' now.

I've rock it, after I changed the pipes ........
