Save this seller on your trademe, he lists stuff often, all of it is insurance write off stuff, bikes quite a bit, but depends on what you are looking for, generally $1 reserve for everything

I find a lot of those wrecks go for far to high a price, must be a lotf sheds with peoples 'bargain' projects unfinished.
Bought a damaged GSXR1100 once, got it right in the end but wouldn't bother doing it again...

I think that's true to a point. There are a shit load of modern sports bikes turned into race bikes. So the prices tend to be quite high for those.

I think the gnome is prolly looking for an ER6 Kawasaki to do something similar to, in which case there's a good chance for a bargain since they're not overly sought after in racing terms yet.

Could be wrong though, he might be trying to scare us all and get a road bike...in which case I think I'll catch the bus when I go to the Naki next

Another good one is http://www.manheim.co.nz/ - their listings don't make it to trademe, so they often go cheaper (but worse interface etc). They won the contract from one of the major insurance companies to sell write off vehicles, including bikes.

There's also a "turners motorcycles" user on trademe listing exactly what you'd expect...

Get yourself a GL145 then. Mine sports XL forks, a 19" Comstar up front, and MX tyres.
