Makes me wonder if there ever will be a time where Superbikes are no longer permitted at the IOM. Sidecars are limited to Formula 2 regs so it's possible that Superbikes could end up being too fast for even the best to ride around there.
That day would suck if it ever did happen.

Superbikes and superstock are already to fast for there really, but that is just another challenge for the rider to deal with.
I have achieved an 8th place finish in the big SNR race on a Yamaha TZ 250 without a left hand foot peg FFS, big bikes cannot be used there fully, 600 is the very very best bike for there now, yes they may be close to or over even 130MPH lap now, buy due to less tourque and outright HP, they are still managable physically to put where you want them, the big grunters have to much chassis pitch issues going on to be able to man handle properrlly these days I say.
If the HP of the grunters could actually be used, we would be seeing 140MPH+ laps, but it is just not possible unless they change the course even more than they have done over the last few years, ONE corner alone is worth over 8 seconds according to john Mcguiness since I was last there and he does not talk shit.

Getting faster too. Like public roads everywhere the local council is gradually upgrading parts of the course so they're safer for the average Muppet in a car. Usually that means smoother surfaces, wider roads and wider radius corners, all of which mean faster race speeds.
Through the towns etc won't change in a hurry, after all, the council isn't going to knock down houses etc and fill in from Bray Hill to Ago's Leap.
Was that Brandish Corner?

Cant see a massive amount of time being saved through Brandish its a pretty bloody fast corner already (fell off there myself one year, long story)
Bruce is one of the smoothest riders Ive seen on the island for years and watching the 132mph lap showed how loose he was having to ride on occasions (he probably felt just fine) that bike was tying itself in all sorts of knots to stay with him.
I can see the day dawning that the big stuff gets put in the legends file and the 600's become the blue ribbon class, a shame but a real possability I fear.

I never knew the names of the corners there, just knew where they were and what to do for then but, YOU are correct re the corner that was changed from idle in 2nd, to near on full in 5th, it gave an 8 second a lap gain there, it leeds onto the strieght taking you down to HILLBURY a few miles from home and just after the famous hotel/pub scene shot from there
1990 Was when the sidecars went to F2 and the current record is for the Sidecar TT is 19 minutes and 24.24 seconds at an average speed of 116.667 mph set by Nick Crowe and passenger Daniel Sayle during the 2007 Sidecar Race B
In 1989 before they went to F2 they were doing 104mph running TZ750, the F2 bikes were running at that speed within 4-5 years
