Vodafone emails keep going missing - Anyone know why this happens?

Anyone here able to give me any clues as Vodafone (ihug) seem to be more interested in getting new customers than keeping their existing ones.
My emails keep disappearing from the inbox. We have 1 desktop, 1 laptop & I have a samsung tablet that I was (until yesterday) getting emails on. Some emails will show up on 1 maybe both computors however some disappear. I have glimpsed some then cannot find them anywhere.
When I log on to my webmail on vodafone the only emails left on there are from that day only.

Here is a response I got from vodafone last time I queried. Is anyone able to tell me what to check easily or should I get Nordieboy in to go thru my computers.

If the emails in the webmail are deleted then unfortunately we can not retrieve them as those emails are on the server.

Can you please confirm if you have recently installed an outlook client or windows mail on your desktop?
If you have then there might be an option that we need to check as the emails are being downloaded to your desktop email client( such as outlook), hence the reason why you are not able to see the emails in your webmail.

Warning I am pretty thick about these things. i have turned the wifi off on the tablet thinkng it may be that & have checked my email accounts (windows live mail) "delete from server" is set to "never".

    Any other hints
    cheers

Changing wifi setting on tablet only changes how it connects to Internet.

As you've done in Windows Live Mail, you need to do on any device that connects to your email address. It's quite possible one of them is deleting from the server (or downloading it).

Equally, phones normally have a live connection to the server (if you make a change on the phone it's reflected on the server) so are the emails that are going missing ones you've say, deleted on your phone?

Number one... check every device's settings and make sure they're not deleting.

Only have an email account on one device, and view emails via webmail on the others. I have Outlook on the desktop and nothing set up for the email account on anything else.

Oh, and judging from what I have heard from other people Vodafone are generally pretty shit of late. Can't give you a personal experience as I've only dealt with Snap for the last 10+ years.

I know it sounds daft, but have you actually looked under the desk?

Amazingly enough, i know the answer to this...they ask about outlook or windows mail - if you have set one of these up while still using webmail, this will syphon off your emails every time you open it. webmail loses both the inbox and sent mail....awkward.
Choose one or the other and stick to it. There probably are ways round it but like you I wanted simple....

^^^ as others have said - using a POP3 account without ticking the box 'leave a copy of the message on the server' will cause this.

POP is gay, IMAP is Gay, Gmail is Manly and having a full Exchange account with Activesync is next to godliness

OK thanks all for your wisdom. I didn't quite understand some of it cos I'm thick but I have deleted the email app thing off the tablet. I also have rooted my back from looking for them under the desk. COuldn't see them but did find some paper clips.
I had a look & I do have outlook on the Desktop but don't use it cos I have to key in some kind of password or pay for using it or something - Anyway I had a look & there have been no emails loaded into it since last year.

I'm not keen on using webmail only as I don't like the format & if anythings gonna get lost I prefer it being lost on my computer not in internetedness.

I have also gone thru both the laptop & desktop into window live mail & under accounts - properties - advanced- ticked the "leave a copy on the server" & oredered it to remove any messages off the server after 100 days. Hopefully this will work.
If not I guess I will have to make sure I open the email on both on the same day.

    I will let you know.

Seems to be a lot of gayness involved with email things -who'd have known?
