good on you billy
Can help out with logistics if need be
More for the rider, info on places to stay, travel times, possibly transport for them to the track etc could even arrange travel and help with them while they are there as a bit of moral support if they feel out of their depth. Im not racing just going to support
FFS!!!!!!
I can't believe nobody has taken up this offer,Entry for NZers is free,MNZ licence accepted,$800 to lease the bike ready to race and delivered to the track with enough fuel to run it for the weekend,The bike has already won races in the series whats stopping anybody from taking up this offer??????
If I was 20 years younger I'd take it myself.....Err or maybe not,I'd still be 40,Better make that 40 years younger hahahahaha
That is a stupid cheap deal man, I would do it myself if I was not so old. Would really like to see Seth D do it, but he is prob not fit enough just yet from his injuries, dam chook chasers being ridden by road racers. I wonder how many road races are injured yearly from dirt accidents whilst training for road racing, never understood people doing that with the risk involved. The logic I understand, but not the actions, they would be better off on Bucket racers doing what they know to do best.
I admire all your hard work on this Billy, but I'll take the rap in advance for being a repetitive boring bastard. This opportunity is the cart before the horse. If the 250prod/Steetstock/development class had good feilds of ambitious young people really on their game, you'd "sell" this opportunity in 5 minutes. But we haven't got this, the few we have already have their sights on greater things, Pro twin, 125GP, 600's etc. The less ambitious would see this as their annual budget (sponsors and their money) going in one meeting. My (sorry negative) feeling is that the effort and money getting young aussies to race here and young Kiwis racing in oz should be spent on getting young Kiwis racing in New Zealand! Well, at least as a priority...
The problem i see pete is 99% of the racers here are not prepared to do the hard graft 2 jobs bla bla bla as I did in my first season of racing to pay the bills and race a bike in the spec that gave me no exscuses( ie as Dom did) Living in a van and eating homemade sandwiches all day every day when he could afford some bread, to try and make it onto the world scene, even if you consider OZ the world haha.
There is maybe 10 that really want it, but the comfort of home is to much for them to leave and "give it a go mate"
There are people like me here in NZ that would help them as much as we could as you well know with my involvement in Dom, but they need to commit first and get there arses out there to show/proove the humger, and that it is not just a hobby sport to them.
The WERA series going back to full on open next year would be an awsome series to aim for, for any young rider wanting to go forward with there racing, or the Triumph 675 cup in the UK.
