    New to the forum

Howzit going people. I have just purchased my second bike and it's time to actually get a license this time. I came across a good find on trademe and have now purchased a cafe style/bobber 2004 Suzuki Gn250. I have just got all the parts to fix the engine as it has dropped an exhaust valve. I am a car mechanic by trade and have a shop on the North Shore so if any one on the forum needs work on the four wheel variant vehicles please feel free to message me also for discounted rates and quality work. I just wanted to say hello to everyone and I cannot wait to be a part of the biking community

    Kind Regards

ha ha ha well I was working on a budget, I couldn't really justify spending a lot on a bike that I would use as a daily commuter ha ha besides it's a cool looking bike. I will post up some pics when I get the chance. My first bike was a long time ago. road bike that is. ha ha dirt first actual bike was at age 6

With a little work they can be a decent bike.
Cheap parts, good supply nothing much you can do that will make it worse.

But and use plenty of contact cleaner and cable grease if you intend to ride in the wet.

A bit like trying to polish a turd though.

Stupid phone / Tapatalk, apologies in advance.

thanks for the advice man I really appreciate it. Contact Cleaner is something I am not short of at work so it should be fine! Engine gets re-assembled today. Any special procedures regarding the cam timing? I know the piston has to be at TDC but I am unable to find any markings on the cam sprocket whatsoever

The marks are on the end of the cam shaft, on the original GN at least.
